I’ve been trying to get organised about my list so that I don’t miss things out by accident. I mean, some list items require action every three months while others require action every week so it would be easy to just forget about something without realising it until its too late. So I’ve added a few reminders to my diary and made up a few rules to help me. Wednesday night is now designated as no TV night so that I get at least one TV free day per week (number 59). This fits in nicely with two of my other list items which I’m meant to do fortnightly – ringing friends for a chat (number 41) and practising my flute (number 31). Every Wednesday night I can now be found on the phone to one of my friends or practicing my flute.
Sometimes no TV night will change – like last week we went out with friends on Thursday night and that became no TV night. And since I actually went out for dinner with several old frinds that night I managed to do both numbers 59 and 41 since I’ve decided that seeing friends is even better than just talking to them on the phone! The week before I practiced my flute, but unfortunately Treacle (my cat) didn’t seem to like it much! She came to see what all the noise was about, then jumped on the bed and sat on my music. She also miaowed at me loundly and stared intently at the flute, looking all the time as though she was about to pounce on my lips…so I cut my rehersal a little short. I’ve decided that I will try to download or somehow get hold of a recording of the piano accompaniment to some of my flute pieces so that I can play with accompaniment – it always sounds better that way.
